Description: Instituted in 1905, this medal was awarded (in silver and bronze) for participation in an expedition mounted after a trade mission led by Colonel Sir Francis Younghusband ran into difficulty with some local tribesmen. A clasp was awarded to those who took part in operations near Gyantse between 3 May and 6 July 1904. This is a bronze medal, as awarded to non-combatant camp followers, with the GYANTSE clasp, named to Mate Dooly Bearer Chunntse B. F. Hospl.
