020.1: War Merit Cross 1915-1918

Description: The cross is made of bronze, 46x36mm. It is a a Latin cross pattée with a laurel wreath between the arms and a central medallion. On the obverse, the central medallion bears a bust of King Friedrich August III with the inscription FRIEDRICH AUGUST KÖNIG V. SACHSEN. The upper arm of the cross carries a crown and 1915 is inscribed at the base of the lower arm. On the reverse, the central medallion bears the crowned FA cipher of King Friedrich August III.
