Description: (Maria Anna Orden) This is the second order reserved for women in the Kingdom of Saxony. It was instituted on 15 May 1905 by King Friedrich August in memory of his late mother. It was awarded to women who distinguished themselves in public service, at the Royal Court or at any institution of public charity. It was also awarded to those who made conspicuous contributions to the improvement of general welfare.
