Added by: FDutil Description: Established by the Dniester District Board and the Ataman Council to perpetuate the memory of the first Ataman of the Dniester Cossack Union and then of the Dubossarski Dniester Cossack District of the Black Sea Cossack Army, Pantelei Semenovich Sazonov. Awarded to the most deserving Cossacks of the Black Sea Cossack Army and other forces of the Union of Cossacks of Russia, who personally knew Pantelei Semenovich Sazonov; to persons who contributed significantly to the revival and strengthening of the Dubossarski Cossack District, for preserving the unity of the Cossack ranks, and for particular distinction in military and civic duties while protecting the independence of the Dniester Moldavian Republic, the interests of the Black Sea Cossacks, for skilful and competent administration of the Cossack communities and military units during the fighting in 1992; to Cossacks who were already in the service of Cossack militias and were in combat operations prior to April 2, 1992, that is, until the death of Ataman Sazonov; to all Dubossarski Cossack District Cossacks serving in Cossack units and formations, or consisting of a Cossack militia, during the term of Ataman of P.S.
