Awarded in 3 classes (left to right 1st, 2nd and 3rd), the 3rd class (at right) requiring a minimum of 6 years service and another 6 years between the other classes. Awarded to the most honored Cossacks of the Black Sea Cossack Army and other forces of the Union of Cossacks of Russia, who made a significant contribution to the revival and strengthening of the Cossacks, to the unity of Cossacks, to the formation of Cossack units in the Armed Forces, and for distinguished performance of military and civic duties in protecting the independence of the republic, the interests of the Black Sea Cossacks, who skilfully and competently supervised Cossack communities and military units. May also be awarded to other persons who are not Cossacks, for actions that contribute to the strengthening of the Black Sea Cossacks, raising its prestige and importance in public life.
