Introduction: This medal, the Hoch-und-Deutchmeister Regiment Jubilee Medal (Hoch-und-Deutchmeister Regimentsjubilaumsmedaille) was issued to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the establishment of the Lower Austrian Royal and Imperial Infantry Regiment “Hoch-und Deutchmeister” No.4.

Obverse: Two oblong medallions, the tops of which are leaning outwards. The left medallion has the portrait of Count Ludwig of Bavaria facing to the right and wearing a cloak and bearing the insignia of the Hoch and Deutchmeister. Above the bust is inscribed FRANZ LUDWIG HERZOG V BAVERN. Translation: Franz Ludwig Duke of Bavaria. The right medallion has the image of Archduke Eugen facing to the right and wearing a cloak with the insignia of the Hoch and Deutchmeister. Above the bust is inscribed ERZHERZOG EUGEN V. OSTERREICH. Translation: Archduke Eugen of Austria. Between and above the medallions is the all-seeing eye in a triangle with rays emitting from it. Below the medallions on either side are laurel branches. Below the medallions and the laurel branches is the coat of arms of the German Knights above four crossed flags on sponsons, two on each side. Around all these images is a raised circle. Between the circle and the raised edge of the medal is an inscription: DEN KAMERADEN ZUR ERINNERUNG AN DAS 200 JAHRIG JUBILAM DES REGIMENTS. Translation: The comrades commemorate the 200-year jubilee of the regiment.

Reverse: Inside a raised rim is an elaborate plaque with the bust of Franz Joseph I surrounded by an oak wreath at the top. The plaque has two finials in the form of the imperial eagle. On the plaque is inscribed in four lines: K. U. K. HOCH / DEUTHCHMEISTER / INFT. REG. NO.4 / 1696. 1896. Translation: Imperial and Royal Hoch Deutch Meister Infantry Regiment Number 4 1696 to 1896. On either side of the plaque stands an allegorical soldier. The soldier on the left is dressed in the uniform worn in 1696 while the one on the right is wearing the uniform of 1896. Below the plaque is the Habsburg eagle. On the inner edge of the medal near the foot of the soldier is the name of the medalist Schwerdtner (Karl Schwerdtner 1896-1918)
