John, I just found in my references that the Marine Corps numbers for this medal should be in the 3,000 to 4,300 range so the medal you are looking for would apparently not be for a Marine.

John,   I can tell you right now that I do not have the medal that you are looking for.  I do have a roster of the Marines that were eligible for the 1915 Haitian so if the grouping you are working on is from a Marine I might be able to verify the information for you.

He would have been eligible for the American Defense Service Medal, probably the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, possibly the Philippine Liberation Medal, possibly the Philippine Victory Medal and the World War 2 Victory Medal.  The two Philippine Medals and the Victory Medal would have been sent to his family after the war was over (in many cases but not all).

    Geoff,

This is my first attempt to use this forum so I’m hoping I am doing this right.  I am the owner of the USMC China Expedition Medal #110 issued to Wirt McCreary.  I was on Ebay several years ago and bid on an auction that contained three numbered medals (I can’t remember which ones) but two of them traced to McCreary.  I put in what I thought was a large bid but ended up having at least 4 others bidding over me.
