Today I received some Asian Medals and since it is not within my expertise I thought to inquire of the experts:
Attached Below you see a possible Taiwanese Medal from what I’m guessing the early statehood era?
1st OBVERSE CENTER shows two flail like objects with a scepter in the center; surrounded by a red Maltese cross surrounded by green oak leaves and back-piece shows oriental type (?) cross
REVERSE has chinese characters with "883"
The next group is Vietnamese:
1st OBVERSE CENTER shows an oriental dragon with a cherry blossom in the center of its body; OUTER RING: the words DANH-DU BOI TINH VIETNAM; Surrounded by three superimposed Maltese crosses and two crossed javelins
REVERSE is blank
2nd OBVERSE CENTER shows a arm holding a downward facing dagger over a black background OUTER RING the inscription BIET-CONG BOI-TINH surrounded by an eight-pointed star
REVERSE has VIET:NAM
3rd OBVERSE Damaged circle with Maltese cross over a diamond with single rays facing inward
REVERSE has the inscription PHI-DUNG BOI-TINH VIET-NAM
