    Does anyone recognize this cross?

It measures 51x51mm, and is unmarked. I have one in gilt and one of exactly the same characteristics, but silvered.

    Jeff,

Probably stating the obvious but it is certainly Italian and probably 1930’s or 40’s and almost certainly some kind of Fascist party
    member’s award.

    All the best,

    Paul

    Paul,

I’ve heard from some Greek collectors who point out that the center symbol (a Minoan labrys within a wreath, topped by a royal crown) is that of the EON, the National Youth Organization, from the Metaxas era. I can find no illustration of this piece in any source I have, so its full identity remains mysterious, but I’ll call it an EON merit cross in the absence of better data.

    Jeff most interesting,
I have just looked up about the Metaxas EON movement and It seems certain that that’s what the badge is, I suspect, given the Greek post war political situation, that they are quite scarce.

    Paul
