KeymasterWe are proud to announce a new addition to the OMSA website available to all registered OMSA members, an electronic Monograph on the Medals of the United States Department of the Interior. Authored by Douglass D. Scott, the monograph is a brief history of the medals of the Department of the Interior from 1948-2010. Also included are four appendices listing the recipients of the major medals: the Commendable Service Award, the Meritorious Service Award, the Distinguished Service Award and the Valor Award. Congratulations and thanks go out to Douglas Scott for this fascinating work.
The monograph is accessed through the main website. You can also easily access this through clicking on the "Research" tab at the top of the forum and then scrolling down to American Medals. The monograph is accessed just to the right of the American Tab under Research. The monograph is divided into a number of sections all of which require Adobe Reader to use. Adobe is a free pdf reader readily available from their website (http://www.adobe.com).
Remember, you must be a registered OMSA member to see this monograph. If you are an OMSA member and can’t access the monograph, that is because we don’t know you are an OMSA member! Please let us know your name and OMSA number and we will update your registration. If you aren’t an OMSA member, this is one of the many benefits of membership so please join!
