The first class badge of the House Order of Schaumburg-Lippe with swords second type from 1890 to 1918 in gold is probably one of the biggest "commander badges" since it is a first class issued by a principality and is therefore technically not equal to the actual commander grade. The cross measures 55×70 mm and comes with its original neck ribbon.
We can track down the only award of the second type to February 1, 1912, to Generalmajor Curt von Morgen. The first type awarded though both Lippe houses was only awarded less than 30 times from 1871 to 1876. The archives seem not to be very specific. A listing exists made Dec. 1872 showing 14 awarded from the Lippe house and 10 from Schaumburg-Lippe. Further research shows 16 total awards from Lippe from Feb 10, 1871 to June 7, 1876 with one being awarded from both hoouses.
