A colleague is trying to ID the medal hanging below the ribbon for the occupation medal. Sorry, no higher resolution available.

    Thanks in advance.

The pendant looks like the Philippines Distinguished Conduct Star (second design). However, these were worn on a crimson ribbon with a blue center stripe).

The ribbon looks like a faded Philippines Medal of Valor ribbon, which would be crimson with 13 stars in three chevrons.

It is possible the medal is a Society Medal of some kind. By the look of the order of his ribbon rack, which the 2nd and 3rd rows look out of order and he has the UN Service Medal for Korea but no US Korean Service Medal. Also, no Philippines Presidenal Unit Citation, that was awarded to every U.S. unit that directly help free the Philippines during World War 2.
    His ribbon order is:
1st row Medal of Honor(?) Army Good Conduct
2nd row World War 2 Victory, Asiatic Pacfic Campaign, American Defence
3rd row Philippines Independence, Philippines Liberation, Philippines Defense
4th row Army of Occupation, National Defense, UN Service Medal

    Correct order should be:
1st row Medal of Honor(?) Army Good Conduct
2nd row American Defence, Asiatic Pacfic Campaign, World War 2 Victory
3rd row Philippines Defense, Philippines Liberation, Philippines Independence
4th row Army of Occupation, National Defense, UN Service Medal
