ModeratorThe Princeton University Library is exhibiting a major collection of Latin American orders, decorations and medals. The collection was formed by Robert L. Ross, a collector with a long association with Latin America.
The university has set up an excellent web site about the exhibition, with illustrations of many of the awards and a short explanation of the context they fit into. See: http://rbsc.princeton.edu/thankful-nation/
There will also be a fully illustrated catalog of the exhibit on sale (details on the web site). The catalog isn’t cheap ($125), but will be the first source on Latin American awards in English since Gillingham’s small monograph for the American Numismatic Society in 1932. The illustrations will be worth the price of the catalog.

"The cost of “From a Thankful Nation” is $125.00 and the shipping cost is $5.00 within the USA. The international shipping cost varies, but will be about $50.00 because the book weighs more than 4 pounds.
I can accept a check or money order made out to the Princeton University Library. I can also accept MasterCard or Visa, and you can call me with the number if you wish to pay by credit card. My contact information is below.
We expect the books to be delivered by the end of April."

ModeratorI’m just back from a trip to Princeton University for the curatorial tour of their exhibit "From a Thankful Nation." A very well-done exhibit with some truly remarkable rarities in this little-known field. The catalogs have not yet arrived, but are expected by mid- to late-May. From the sample catalog, the wait will be worth it — all color, mostly life-sized illustrations, a good bibliography.
Kudos to Robeert Ross, the collector; Alan Stahl, the curator; and the Firestone Library, the host.

ParticipantHello Jeff, I am interested in buying the catalog. Can I still get it thru you or should I try to order thru the University?
Thanks
