For my sins, I have been asked to take care of the OMSA Image Database. I’ll be going through the magnificent collection, tidying up and looking to fill the gaps – and any suggestions as to how to improve it will be very welcome.

But we need YOU! It would not be such a magnificent collection were it not for the contributions that you have made over the years… so please keep them coming. As good quality as you can manage, obverse and reverse views (don’t worry if they are separate images, I can put them together for you) – preferably things we don’t have yet but if you have a really good picture (or, of course, an interesting variant) do send it anyway. Please also provide any details you have about name of the award, date of institution, terms of award, and anything else you think might be interesting. Your name will be given with your contribution unless you wish to remain anonymous.

Let’s make it even better than it already is!

PS. The OMSA image database is quite separate from my own website, and submitting an image to OMSA will not mean that it will end up on my site as well unless you give express permission to that effect.

    Hello Megan:

Thanks for taking on this big task.  I have contributed a lot of images and hope to add more in the future as I believe the image and medal backgrounds are very educational and helpful to all collectors or historians.  Thanks again for the selfless work for all of us.

    Dear CSMRUSS

Thank YOU for all the images you have contributed so far… and I look forward to receiving more! Like you I believe it’s an invaluable resource. Right now I’m curled up with the United Kingdom section – the aim is to get everything into the correct order, then highlight missing/poor images and see if I can find better ones!

    Hugs from Megan

I wish you luck. Having cared for it since its inception (until I was purged without notice), I have my fingers crossed for you.

    Hi Ed:

Many thanks to you as well, I did not know you were the first trailblazer with the image data base.  From the start it is an invaluable educational tool.  Thank you.
