I don’t know if the "Bayerisches Münzkontor" still sells them, but with regards to the pics they show, it does not motivate to buy their repros…
Thanks for the info.

A lot of ribbon mistakes concerning the French awards… Here is a Croix de Guerre TOE with a Croix de Guerre 1914-1918 ribbon.

Are these also on ebay? I’m curious if they sell these things and for what price.July 10, 2011 at 8:14 am #14013
They are for sale on eBay, but not really sure they sell… I’ll have a closer look.

I was just curious. I bought a Göde copy of the palmes about 0.5 years ago for 1 euro and I was wondering if the prices are more then 1 euro these days.July 10, 2011 at 8:15 am #14015
There were a few for sale on the French eBay a few days ago… These Goede copies did not sell. They were for sale at a bid price of 2.50 euros…

A new one : the Croix de Guerre for a "Sous-Directeur", with a ribbon bearing the French Legion colors !!
Oh oh oh, that must be very rare. :vomit:July 10, 2011 at 8:19 am #14019
The "Sous-Directeur" rank in the Legion is indeed very rare !!

All joking aside, my fear is that some beginning collector, assuming there are any of those around these days, will buy this, and probably pay a lot for it. The crook will get rich(er). And, someday, the beginner will discover how much he (or she) was ripped off by buying based on hormonal impulse and a swallowed "story" without ever considering that there were reference books and other ways to learn something before paying out your money. I can’t blame the beginner if, feeling cheated and betrayed by phaleristics, they literally throw this piece of frass away and move on to collecting, say, bottle caps. And then we wonder why out "hobby" is dying out?!
