This came with a 2nd armored division lot and that in itself is a mystery…but I cannot find this medal in gold…its not painted, its gold, perhaps low carat real gold or heavily plated, and super quality, burnished highlights…nice long ribbon…no mention of it anywhere though. Its too nice to have been made up by someone…any thoughts? Thank you kind sirs and madams.

It is the first time ever that I see a gold version of this cross. I can pass on the question to some other Dutch collectors if you want.

Please do. This appears to be MADE this way, not plated later, definitely. The highlights of the letters are burnished, and if it was plated later this would not be possible. I may test it for gold content today, if I can, who knows? Thanks, it is a true mystery, no one has seen one…thanks!
