While looking for ribbon bars in Cyprus, I came across a shop with a display of medals (unfortunately they were closed, and I didn’t have time to return). I notice that there is nearly nothing online for Cyprus (that I could easily find), so I post photos for anyone interested (sorry about the low quality).

Some info from the government of Cyprus website:

The boxed medal would appear to be a gold medal of the Order of the Merit of the Republic of Cyprus (which is not shown in the given 5 regular classes), and perhaps the medal behind it is the knight class ?

    The others I don’t identify.

The majority of medals in the picture are Greek.

The medal you indicate as possibly being a medal associated with the Order of Merit of the Republic of Cyprus does seem to have the correct ribbon, and the wreath & dove appears in the Order’s insignia as shown on the Presidential website. So far not found any information on that Order having medals associated with it, but as you say there is little information about Cypriot ODM available.

Megan is right, most of the medals on display are Greek.

Rdave, thank you for the link to the Cyprus Presidency website. Did not know it at all. On the same medal page but in Greek there are some more medals:

    Happy translating!

The advantage of Greece being my favourite holiday destination… :)

    Μετάλλιο «Αλτρουϊσμού και Αυτοθυσίας» = Medal for Altruism & Sacrifice, a life-saving award.

Μετάλλιο «Προασπιστής της Ελευθερίας και της Δημοκρατίας» = Medal for Defenders of Freedom and Democracy, awarded to Greek Cypriots who died in the invasion by Turkey in 1974 (and possibly to survivors as well, it would be silly to have a lapel ribbon for a medal that’s only awarded posthumously!).

Μετάλλιο «ΖΗΝΩΝ Ο ΚΙΤΙΕΥΣ» = Medal "Zeno KITIEFS" which is awarded to institutions for long and valuable contribution to society of Cyprus, especially in matters of human, scientific, highlighting the cultural heritage of Cyprus. Non-wearable, obviously, and perhaps outside of our interests here.

Μετάλλιο «Εξαίρετης Προσφοράς» = Medal for Outstanding Contributions, awarded to those who render services to Cyprus.
