    Hello Fellow Collectors.

I am new to this site, but not new to medal collecting, and I am stumped on some research so I hope someone out there could help.

<span style=”font-family: OpenSans-webfont;”>On doing some research into China 1900 medals I came across the roll entry for ” C GROUT; Civ Surg CFF” (Civil Surgeon China Field Force). </span><span style=”font-family: OpenSans-webfont;”>I already have a copy of the medal roll which confirms the issue (in 1903) and naming.  </span><span style=”font-family: OpenSans-webfont;”>I can find no trace of him in any British Medical Directory of the period 1890 – 1910, which covers doctors in the UK, military and in overseas territories. However I did come across a Dr C Grout who was an American, shown on Ancestry as travelling from the UK to New York in the 1890s. He was then aged about 55, so would have been born around 1842.  There is no trace on the British National Archives site, although given the current lockdown I cannot get to all information without a visit.  </span>

<span style=”font-family: OpenSans-webfont;”>Could it be possible that this was the same man in China in 1900?     If anyone can help confirm this it would be greatly appreciated!</span>
