MemberDuring my research for a JOMSA article about the African Service Medal and Home Pairs I came across the mention of a bronze King protea flower attachment for the medal. I have not seen this before.
I would appreciate any information about this attachment.

ModeratorThe bronze Protea flower attachment indicated the award of a King’s Commendation to mark valuable services in connection with WW2. It could be awarded posthumously, and is a bit like a ‘mention in dispatches’ only for services not actually on the field of battle.

MemberThank You Megan!!! I have never seen this attachment on this medal. Does anybody have an example of this attachment or the medal with attachment that I could use in the article with proper credit given?

Hi Paul,
I searched for it using the info you gave me and could not find it. I really need a picture of an ASM with a Bronze King Protea leaf attachment to finish a JOMSA article. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.Best,

MemberSUCCESS!!! Thanks Paul!!! I entered the auction date and only the keyword Protea and found that amazing group. Now to get permission to use the picture and I can get the article to the editor. This was all that I was waiting on.
A VERY HAPPY DOC!

MemberI think I need to get permnission to use the photo. I’ll post it as soon as possible. I might be able to crop the group to just show the ASM with the Protea attachment.
