American Legion JROTC Award for General Military Excellence is given annually to an outstanding JROTC cadet at each high school for general military excellence. Not more than one student at a school may be nominated per year for this award. Students participating in JROTC programs conducted at high schools will receive the bronze medallion. A miniature reproduction of the JROTC collar brass is attached to the ribbon bar. To receive the award the cadet must:


Be in the top 25 percent of his or her class in academic subjects and JROTC subjects.


Have demonstrated outstanding qualities in military leadership, discipline, character, and citizenship.
