I would like to thank the Jensen Medal Company for allowing Mr. Eric Bush and I to photograph this Badge and the Combined Order Badge. The Three Orders Badge and star is the highest and rare Order of Portugal and existed during the monarchy period and the current Republic. The Heads of State of Portugal serve as the Grand Masters of the Three Orders: the Order of Christ, the Order of Saint Benedict of Aviz and the Order of Saint James and the Sword. The Portuguese Head of State therefore wears the Three Orders Badge, which combines all of the symbols of the three orders onto one unique enameled badge. This sample comes with an original green and red sash and is hallmarked on the reverse. The dealer has placed the piece as an 1830 piece.
