Rumour has it that there was a Convention in Denver in August, this year ! Or was this just “fake news”? Was anybody there ? Any news, photos, comments etc

Just browsed the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel and it appears to be booked out for Convention period. Does OMSA have a block of rooms reserved?

    Hi Megan

Keep up the good work. I note your frequent emails which is good news. Otherwise I’d be thinking all OMSA communication was next to non-existent!

Is it just me……? I’ve been trying to contact a Board member by email, to the address shown in the JOMSA, but there is no response – just disappears into the ether without trace. I’ve searched this website for possible new email addresses without success, even though the site itself says they are there and available to members. WHERE?

    HELP.

    Hello Kevin

Luxford was a New  Zealander, moved to California approx 1919. His trio was mailed to him in CA in the 1920s. He was awarded the Military Cross, sold at auction in CA after his death – no other medals included. His family have no knowledge of the whereabouts of his medals – they didn’t know he had any ! He was broke in the ’20s, ’30s – struggling actor in Max Sennet  movies etc.

He didn’t return (to live) in New Zealand. He became known as “Mr Golf California” organising the Bing Crosby golf classic etc. His wife Lola (ex), also a film star, ran a club at  Rockefeller Center, NY, in WW II for Commonwealth personnel in transit.

Who wouldn’t want them ??????  Guess where his MC is!!!!   lol

PITTSBURGH 2016 PITTSBURGH PIRATES v. SAN DIEGO REDS

Following our President’s suggestion……Anybody going to Pittsburgh thinking of going to a ball game on the 10th August 1916 – walking distance from the hotel?

Want to book seats together ?

While having some sympathy with the views expressed (especially Ed’s) it is worth remembering that the world is not run by, nor revolve around, ivory towers and the rules thereof.

Is there, or is there going to be, a simple button for forum “See new messages ” ? (And one that doesn’t make the message immediately disappear – as per GMIC forum).

Yellowed ! Maybe because of glue ??

The white stripes become yellow and the blue stripes become green (Blue + yellow = green)

Thanks for your reply. However the reference you provided seems to describe a different medal. The one I have has neither the fleurs de lis, nor the letter "H". Is mine a very junior award?

    Graeme (Thanks for your efforts)
