Yuri, this mount is really weird! I have only before seen it used on awards of the Ministry of Transport http://www.omsa.org/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=1078 and of the MInistry of Communication and Mass Media http://www.omsa.org/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=1086.

Why would a purely military award be suspended by such a mount? In my humble opinion, somebody just covered an incorrect mount with the ribbon and hung the medal from it. This medal isn't even awarded to civilians of the Defense Ministry...

As I explained to experts, badge of the military unit, shown above, should look like this ... On the orders of the Ministry of Defense of Russia all the weapons on badges should be shown the blade up
