OMSA 2012 Convention in Dallas August 16-19

For your information, the Convention Registration Form is now up on the website.

The direct link to the information page is: http://www.omsa.org/content/upcoming-convention

A direct link to the registration form is: http://www.omsa.org/files/OMSA%202012%2 ... 20Form.pdf

The form and a brief writeup on the convention will be in the upcoming edition of JOMSA. The hotel is the Dallas/Fort Worth Hyatt Regency, located at the DFW airport. This means there will be no taxi fare for those flying into the convention. For those of you wanting to do a display, we are having a special award this year for exhibits focusing on Aviation. Keeping with this theme, our scheduled Saturday banquet speaker is Paul Oelkrug, the coordinator for Special Collections at the University of Texas at Dallas. Among the collections at the University of Texas at Dallas are a wide array of materials on Aviation history covering the First World War, the papers of Jimmy Doolitle and Vice Admiral Charles E. Rosendahl, who was in charge of the United States Navy's Airship program, and, for those of you with an interest in Vietnam and South-East Asia, the archives of Air America.

If you have any questions, give me or Mike "Doc" Riley an email. We will do our utmost to answer your questions.

Best wishes,

John

Hi John,
Looking forward to this years convention. One quick question please. Earlier I believe the 2012 convention landing page had a tentative daily schedule. In checking the site today, that is no longer there? I am just trying to book my travel, not sure I can arrive on the 15th it may be the 16th. Trying to see what is at risk.

Thanks in advance,
Dave

Just a brief announcement. This year OMSA will have an auction at our Convention. All proceeds will benefit the OMSA general fund. There will be no buyers premium but you must be present to bid and win at this auction. For more information see the page on the website: http://www.omsa.org/content/omsa-convention-auction

Those of you who weren't at the convention in Dallas missed another excellent show.

My thanks to John Allgood for the work he did in putting it all together and making it run smoothly. A well-run show always looks easy from the outside because those who attend rarely have to deal with what he has to deal with.

Thanks for that Jeff.

The convention was a lot of work but well worth it. I am glad to have done it. I would encourage anyone who wants to host a convention, or wants one in their home, to give it a shot.

The convention seemed to be a success. That being said, the more members that attend, the better each one will be. Next year, the convention will be in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the dates will be from August, 8-11. The Hotel for next year will be the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 6401 S. 13th Street. Mark your calendar now!
