Latvian (Kalpaka) battalion breast badge

Postby tyfus » Mon Jul 02, 2012 12:29 am

hello all

I am from Poland.
I have a badge, probably Latvian (Kalpaka) battalion.

http://www.omsa.org/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=11212

This is probably some other variant of this badge. It is unfortunately incomplete.
I have not found a similar badge. Are you are able to write anything more about it ?

Thank you in advance for the info

Regards, Darek "tyfus"

Found emblem is part of the so-called pendant that belonged to the National Guard pilot Aizsargi Latvia - Janis Muiznieks.

You could show pendant entirely?

Unfortunately, I do not know how he could look in its entirety.

Badge, actually pendant is made to individual order Muiznieks in 1935/1936, by an unknown name goldsmith Latvian.
Search in catalogs is pointless, since I have the only copy, incomplete.
Pendant or part, which I have, Muiznieks lost during the retreat of the village Górsk near city Torun, from 25 to 27 January 1945 and fleeing the advancing Red Army troops.
another pendant Latvian Air Regiment or flight school - an attached image
